Annie

Our daily routine has changed enough with the girls in school. For example, I get up at 6:00 a.m. (Thing that did not happen before unless I had that to go to some doctor's appointment). The morning runs very quick and at 11:30 a.m. we need to be ready to get Pablo at his workplace and to arrive on time to school. What makes me a little stressed with the girls lunch (which I have to give them between 10:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.) and I need urgently alternatives for the lunch that must be fast to prepare but, with nutritious value. I hope to receive diverse suggestions so I will not be having this much tension with the lunch.

I expect your suggestions.

Annie

Steamed veggies with salt & butter and some rice & beans.

Turkey patties (ground turkey shaped it to thin patties seasoned with salt, pepper & garlic/onion powder fried in butter) with some pasta and cucumber slices.

Fresh fish sticks made from one fillet of tilapia. Cut in to small pieces, dredge in egg then seasoned bread crumbs cook in oil or olive oil with steamed peas.

All those suggestions can be cooked in 15 minutes or less :)

I'm sure you probably already do lots of sandwiches, but for a quick lunch we like grilled cheese. Bagels with cream cheese (kind of a breakfast food, but it could work!), black beans and tortillas... We also do a lot of frozen vegetables that can be microwaved in just a few minutes.

My girls are quite a bit younger, so it's hard to think what the older ones eat!

Peanut butter - can they do peanut butter, PB with honey, PB with bananas (and honey), PB with blueberries (and honey). PB is usually my quick lunch choice, along with crackers and some kind of fruit. Lunches are always hard for us too - good luck.

My girls love these fast & non-messy grab and go sandwiches....

Tortilla roll-up
Spread it with cream cheese, and layer it with ham & cheese. Now roll up and cut in half. Nothing will drip out and it is yummy!

oh boy, i struggle with what to feed my girls and cooking in general -- so i'll keep an eye on your responses to hopefully get a few ideas i can try with my girls : )

i will say, simplicity might be best. I pretty much have a few lunch meals i use that work fine, not fancy at all : ) whole wheat mac and cheese with turkey dogs are a big hit -- so are peanut butter and jelly sandwiches with cheese sticks -- and cheese/chicken quesadillas. Ella and Zoe also really like hard boiled eggs too.

Good luck Annie!!

so you have to take them lunch? and then stay for lunch?

My son is pretty set with what he eats, he gets stuck on 1 food and eats it for awhile and then moves on to another one. His Favorite right now is Corndogs. And he loves his vegetables

Charlotte loves things wrapped in tortillas. As long as I have some cheese in there, she will eat it. Cheese and turkey, ham, etc. The twins love hummus, so I do tortillas with beans and hummus for them a lot.

I also make some things on the weekend and then just quick reheat all week long.
