I have received various e-mails asking me how I keep my house so organized having two small girls. My answer to this is called ORGANIZATION. I do not like messy places and I like when I 'm looking for something to be in a specific place and not have to run around the house yrying to find it (bealive me it has happened to me).
These are the techniques that have given me results (up to now) :
1. Teach your children to collect the toys after playing (success comes with the consistency of this process and in the end is achieved). Nevertheless, this is a battle that you won't win in the first intent therefore is necessary that while they learn to carry out these tasks we collaborate with them. Many times, playing on who collects more works when you have more than one kid. The most important is that in the end of our day our family room is clean and organized.
2. The floor gets dirty every day so I sweep it every dayand try to mop two times in the week.
3. There is not a thing that produces more tension (at least to me) than to get up in the morning and find a disaster in every room therefore, although I can not clean every day, I collect the things that during the day det misplaced in different areas.
4. I have different storage boxes to keep the things. They are available in all sizes and colors and with reasonable prices.
But, to achieve this I have my own work system (is not a strict agenda since sometimes things happens but, at least I can enjoy to the maximum with my family). This is my daily agenda:
Monday: Organizing the house after the weekend. Sweeping and mopping. Cooking
Tuesday: Generally, I do not do anything and in the afternoon we go to doctor's appointments or to enjoy in family (Pablo has Tuesday afternoon free).
Wednesday: Sweeping, cooking and in some occasions laundry.
Thursday: Clean the livingroom (including furniture), kitchen and bath (this is the first half of the house). Sweeping and mopping
Friday: Sweeping and mopping, cooking, cleaning the 3 rooms, 2 bedrooms 1 family (second half of the house).
Saturday: Laundry, sweeping and ironing. The afternoon is family time.
Sunday: I do not do anything, just enjoy my family
Not complicated but ORGANIZATION is vital. Try it , you'll find out that you can do it.

Good tips Annie -- I have somewhat of a schedule but not as organized as I'd like.

I aspire to be as organized as you some day!
I wish I could be that organized! One day!!
Good for you! Sounds like you have a great system. My house stays really clean during the day when the kids are at school. Once they are home...it goes crazy. We put all things away before bed because I don't like to wake up to a messy house either.
Que organizada Annie!!! Muchas felicidades.
