Aloha Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

My question is:

How do you do to help economically at your house? Do you have a home business, work outside or sell products on Ebay?

My answer:

Well, I'm a SAHM and have an Etsy store, so it helps a little bit (because I don'w know what else to do to have more sales, any advice).

Have a wonderful weekend.

I work a part time job one or two evenings a week. It doesn't pay much but it helps a little bit.

I am a SAHM, luckily my parents are a big help right now while my husband is deployed...

I am also a SAHM now. I have thought about selling things on Etsy, but have never gotten around to it. One of these days I want to start tutoring kids again. It would be nice to help them and get some money using my expensive degrees. Good luck with your store.

I own my own house, by myself. I am currently unemployed (yeah) and I am drawing unemployment. It stinks, but it is paying the bills until I can find a job. :)

Well, I'm quite frugal since I became a stay at home mom and we lost 2/3 our income. I started my blog and have been blessed with earning a bit through it the past year.

I think it is wonderful that you have an Etsy store! I am not crafty enough to make things people would want to buy.
But I do sell Discovery Toys as a consultant. I love it so far! I have the button on my blog, but no hits yet. Maybe in time....I just started and I can't wait to get my first pay check from it!
Have a great weekend!

I save my family tons of money because they don't have to pay for a cook, housekeeper, taxi, secretary or nurse.

I'm hoping to start babysitting. I have to start somewhere.

When the kids go off to school I'll either find good work or go back to school or both.

I am frugal. I coupon, look for deals, and consign. It all really helps my family.

I was the main bread winner in the house until I was laid off in November but I am in the process of finding a new job. My wife also makes money watching kids which helps out a TON.

Happy Friday!

I do not help out much, being a SAHM wit no income. I do watch our budget very carefully and rarely spend on myself.

Hi Annie!
I work part-time in the career I trained for that I don't enjoy too much, to be honest. I would love to do what you do (SAHM with a side business).

Great question and Aloha to you too!
I think you know my answer but playing along anyways....
I am a SAHM. I love to sew and make hairbows but I have stopped selling them.

well, I am SAHM too, but I earn money from blogging which is good as well. Sometimes, I used what I earned to buy what I want without touching our money for the house...

I'm also a SAHM, but I also take care of 18 month old twins twice a week (10 hour days each day) -- and I've been subbing at Ella and Zoe's preschool too. It's fun being back in the classroom a little, though 'teaching' 16 3-4 year olds is A LOT more challenging than I thought it would be : ) I do miss teaching Kindergarten and will go back (hopefully only PT) in a year or two. Budgets are tight these days . . . .

LOVE your etsy products Annie -- wish I had more to spend and support your business as much as I'd like to.

Have a wonderful weekend!

Aloha also! I always worked outside the home until a few weeks ago, but I love crafts and started selling them to people a few months ago. I was thinking of doing a esty store for them but haven't gotten around to it yet. I like fixing wreaths for the front door for all seasons!

I need to be better about spending money, but I'm a shopaholic! My husband is an excellent provider. I did start my etsy store this last October and it's going well. I think it can go slow at times, but the more people know about it the more potential customers. Good luck my friend!

I have been a stay at home mom since our first child was born. I am a Bible study teacher and have traveled to speak on the weekends for years. Now I have also began a ministry, I write Bible studies for MOMS with DVDs, and I continue to travel and speak. In these tough economic times everyone is having to carefully guard their financial well being.

Thanks for stopping by last week. I am a bit behind in responding. We had a lovely Thanksgiving. We had ham and this year, I bought 2 rotisserie chickens since we are not huge fans of turkey. It worked out great and tasted good withe the sausage pecan dressing and gravy, rolls, sweet potato casserole, corn casserole, cranberry sauce, broccoli and rice casserole and pecan pie for dessert.

We had family and friends over and it was a wonderful time of food and fellowship. Hope you continue to enjoy this special time of year.

Blessings.

I have an online store too. Although with the new CPSIA regulations and testing requirements it's in jeopardy.

I am a SAHM right now. I home school my kids, plus attend college full time online. I control the checkbook though, so I make sure money isn't wasted.
