Weekend Recap

Imagino que por allí no hay nadie que haya tenido un fin de semana tan grandioso como el de nosotros.

Viernes: El día tan esperado por mis niñas para ir a su primera excursión. Sofia despertó muy temprano por que estaba ansiosa pero Paola despertó con fiebre. Así que tomamos las medidas preventivas necesarias y al zoológico nos fuimos. Olvidaba decirles, que yo tenía fiebre y me dolía todo el cuerpo, un ojo hinchado y para colmo me baja la menstruación, algo más. A fin de cuentas, el viaje fue buenísimo y disfrutamos mucho. Ya al regreso comenzaron los síntomas otra vez.

Sábado y Domingo: La cama y yo hemos sido las mejores amigas desde entonces. Recuerdan mi ojo hinchado, pues es conjuntivitis, que bien verdad. Parece que ya estoy lista para "Halloween". La buena noticia de todo esto es que Sofia esta bien (toco madera) y la mala noticia, Paola y Pablo también tienen conjuntivitis. Paola y yo también tenemos catarro, genial.

Lunes: (bueno no es parte del fin de semana pero para no perder la cuenta). Ninguno de nosotros ha mejorado en nada y Sofia pudo ir a la escuela.

Ojalá que todo esto pase muy pronto y podamos ser una familia normal otra vez. (Llevamos un récord de tres fines de semana consecutivos con alguien, o dos, o todos enfermos, grandioso verdad, no me envidien)

I imagine that there is nobody that have had a weekend as magnificent as ours.

Friday: The day my girls waited so anxiously, their first field trip. Sofia woke up very early because she was anxious but Paola woke up with a fever. So we took the necessary preventive measures and we went to the zoo. I forgot to tell you that I had a fever, all my body was in pain, an eye swollen and to top it all my menstruation. After all, the trip was excellent and we enjoyed it a lot. After we returned the symptoms started again.

Saturday and Sunday: The bed and I we have been the best friends since then. Remember my swollen eye, is pinkeye, great. Seems that I am ready for Halloween. The good news of all this is that Sofia is well (I knock on wood) and the bad news, Paola and Pablo also have pinkeye. Paola and I also have a cold, yipee.

Monday: (It is not part of the weekend but I need to mention it). None of us has improved at all and Sofia could go to school.

I hope that all this ends very quick so we can be a normal family again. (We have a record of three weekends on a row with someone sick)

Quick Update

Gracias a Dios las niñas están mejorando. Por lo menos, Sofia no tuvo fiebre hoy (llevaba desde el pasado miércoles con fiebre alta). Esperamos regresar oficialmente a clases mañana y que las condiciones del tiempo mejoren para que la situación no se complique.

Nuestro fin de semana fue bastante tranquilo y lo pasamos en familia. Tuvimos la oportunidad de realizar varias tareas en la casa o más bien en nuestra mini van, jaja. Pero, fue bastante bueno y no lo cambiaría por nada.

Ahora esperamos tener una semana fantástica.

Thanks to God the girls are improving. At least, Sofia did not have fever today (she have been sick since last Wednesday). We hope to take them back to school tomorrow and that the weather improve so that the situation will not be complicated.

Our weekend was quite tranquil and we had our family time. We had the opportunity to carry to complete some tasks in the house and on the minivan, jaja. It was quite good and it wouldn't change it a thing.

Now we hope to have a fantastic week.

Enferma / Sick

El jueves en la noche Sofia tuvo fiebre pero con un supositorio se le controló. El viernes cuando se levantó tenía un poco pero decidimos colocarle otro supositorio y todo el día estuvo bien pero, al caer la noche le comenzó la fiebre así que decidimos ir a la sala de emergencias. Luego de esperar un rato y de mi mamá pedir que le tomarán la temperatura por que ya en una ocasión la niña tuvo convulsiones a causa de fiebre la atendieron y el diagnóstico fue infección de oído (izquierdo). Le administraron un antibiótico intravenoso (Sofia grito con todas sus fuerzas) y a tomar medicamento por siete días.

Dios permita que todo pase pronto y se recupere para cuando comience la escuela el martes.

Thursday night Sofia had fever but it was controlled with a suppository. On friday when she woke up she had a little bit of fever so we decided to aplicate another suppository and all day was well but, at nightfall the fever was back so we decided to go to the emergency room of . After waiting a while my mom asked if they could take her temperature because in one occasionshe had convulsions because of fever, when the doctor saw her the diagnosis was infection of ear (left). They administered an intravenous antibiotic (Sofia screamed with all their strenght) and to take medicine for seven days.

God permit that this end quickly and she can recover before the begining of school next Tuesday.

Enfermas Otra Vez / Sick Again

Al parecer este año la tiene contra nosotros. No salimos de una enfermedad o condición para caer en la siguiente. Desde el sábado Sofia comenzó con fiebre y luego el domingo le siguió Paola. En estos momento están con antibióticos y a la espera de que a Paola se le quite un fuerte dolor de cabeza que dice le da para saber si se le hace un CT SCAN de la cabeza. En realidad nada muy placentero para mencionar. Esperemos que esta racha nos abandone pronto y nos permita pasar un tiempo tranquilos y felices.

Apparently this year has it against us. Right after we got cured of illness, we fall into another one. Since Saturday Sofia began has been on and off with a faver and Paola fallowed up on Sunday. At these moment they are with antibiotics and hoping that Paola will get rid of a strong headache that she has. If not she must have a CT SCAN of her head to find out or rule out some questions. Nothing pleasant to mention. We hope that this gust of bad wind abandon us quick and permit us to have a happy and tranquil time.

Es Mi Turno / It's My Turn

Finalmente me llegó el turno y me atacó el virus. Es horrible sentirse así, pobre de mis niñas debió ser tan espantoso para ellas. Al momento de yo escribir esto (viernes) puedo decir que las niñas están recuperadas y yo estoy casi al otro lado.

Todo parece indicar que fuimos parte de un brote gastrointestinal que arropa a casi la mitad del país y claro nosotras queriamos formar parte de las estadísticas,jaja. Olvide que mi mamá también se contagio.

Antes de terminar quiero agradecerle a Pablo por haber cuidado de las niñas y de mi, eres tremendo enfermero.

Finally it was my turn and the virus attacked me. Is horrible to feel like this so I think that my poor girls must have been in such pain. At this moment (Friday) I can say that the girls are recovered and I am almost on the other side, on my way to full recovery.

All indicates that we were part of a gastrointestinal infection that attacked almost half of the country and we just wanted to be part of the statistics, jaja. By the way, my mom is also sick.

Before finishing I want to thank Pablo for taking care of the girls and myself, you are a tremendous nurse.

Cómo está todo? / How is everything?

Lamento, decirles que aún las cosas no han mejorado. Ayer martes, tuvimos que llevar a Paola a la Sala de Emergencias por que había comenzado a deshidratarse. Ella estuvo todo el tiempo acostada y no quería comer por que vomitaba, pobrecita.

Hoy, el día comenzó con todos muy cansados. Ambas niñas vomitaron durante la mañana y Sofia tuvo fiebre en dos ocasiones. Debo decir que durante la casi semana que llevamos con esto, el mapo y la lavadora son mis amigos inseparables (ya hasta el punto que los estoy detestando).

Ha eso de las 5:30 pm Paola, comenzó a tener ánimo y comió un poquito. Ojalá que estos próximos días sean diferentes.

Unfortunally I have to tell you that things have not improved. Yesterday (Tuesday), we had to take Paola to the ER because she was dehydrated. She was laying down all the time and did not want to eat, my poor baby.

Today, everyone is tired. Both girls vomited during the morning and Sofia had fever twice. I should say that during the almost a week that this has been happening, the mop and the washing machine are my inseparable friends (already to the point that I am detesting them).

Around 5:30 pm, Paola began to have a bit more energy and ate a little bit. I hope things improve on the next couple of days.

Virus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

El primer virus de vómitos llegó a mi casa. Por supuesto no es nada de lo que este feliz pero, así es la vida y no pudimos escaparnos. Hasta el momento (toco madera) solo lo tiene Sofia. La pobre niña estuvo todo el día sin comer y en todo el día solo vómito y vómito. La mejor noticia pero, que a mí no me agrado mucho es que el Dr. dijo que cualquiera de nosotros podía pasar por lo mismo dentro de las próximas horas o en un plazo de 2 a 3 días,noooooooooooooooooooooo.

Ojalá que pase todo y que no haya nadie más con el virus aquí.

The first vomiting virus has arrived at my house. Of course is nothing that makes me happy but, thus is life and we could not escapefrom it. Up to now it's just Sofia. The poor girl went all day without eating and all day vomiting and vomiting. The best news, but it does not please me, is that the doctor said that any of us could get the same thing in the next hours or in about 2 to 3 days, noooooooooooooooooooooo.

I hope it ends quick and no one else get the virus here.

Visita al Cardiólogo / Cardiologist Appointment

Ayer fuimos a la cita del cardiólogo. Todos los exámenes que se realizó están bien. Aparentemente todo es por la presión sanguínea que provoca los fuertes dolores de cabeza y de allí una inflamación en el pecho. Hasta allí vamos bien. Ahora, con el fin de buscar una respuesta a todo esto el Doctor lo refirió a un otorrinaringólogo. La razón, en ciertos momentos el escupe sangre y eso no es normal por lo que ahora tendremos esa cita en abril.

A fin de cuentas seguimos sin una respuesta a todo esto.

Yesterday we went to the cardiologist appointment. All the tests came out well. Apparently all is caused by changes on his blood pressure which gives him strong headaches and from there an inflammation in the chest. Up to now everything is fine. Now, in order to find an answer to all this the doctor referred him to a throat doctor. The reason is that in certain moments he spits blood and that is not normal so now he has an appointment in April with another doctor.

Still no answer to all this.

Paola Enferma Otra Vez / Paola is Sick Again

Nuevamente, Paola está enferma. En esta ocasión tiene gotereo nasal, un poco de tos y le ha dado vómitos (de todo esto es lo peor). Es una lástima ver a mi bebé (sí, ella siempre será mi bebé al igual que Sofia) quejarse. También estoy buscando alternativas para que coma por que está sumamente mística y no es bueno puesto que ella siempre está bajo peso. Así que sí alguna tiene alternativas "agradables para niños" en el menú les agradeceré su ayuda.

Paola is sick, again. In this occasion she has runny nose, a little cough and some vomiting (this is the worse thing). It is a pity to see my baby (yes, she will always be my baby just like Sofia) complaining about how she feels. I am also looking for alternatives so she can eat more because she is extremely mystical and it is not good since she always under weight. So if someone has alternatives that are "pleasant for children" in the menu I will thank you for your help.

Ya Pablo se hizo el "stress test" (el examen duró dos días) ahora nos falta esperar por el resultado que más o menos debe estar preparado en una semana. Ya tenemos el resultado del CT Scan de la cabeza y gracias a Dios el resultado es bueno, no hay indicios de hemorragias ni nada en su cabeza. Nos queda pendiente unos exámenes de sangre donde buscarán desde lo más sencillo hasta lo más complejo (pobrecito va a parecer una fuente de agua con tantos agujeritos para sacarle la sangre,jaja). Luego de eso el siguiente paso es ir nuevamente al cardiólogo (se supone que sea la segunda semana de marzo) y conocer qué ocurre con Pablo.

En otros temas, ayer (viernes) se fue la electricidad desde las 8:30 pm. hasta las 2:45 a.m. y no solo eso fue malo, lo peor era la calor tan horrible que hacia. Les diré que yo termine durmiendo en el piso y mis niñas aguantaron el sueño hasta la medianoche y luego cayeron exhaustas, pobrecitas. Entonces, hoy como que todos estabamos con las baterías sin recargar, fue un largo día pero en el que no hicimos mucho en la casa.

Already Pablo had his "stress test" (it lasted two days) now we have to wait for the results in about one week. We already have the result of the head CT Scan and thanks to God the result is good, there is no indication of hemorrhages or anything else. The only thing left to do are the blood tests (my poor thing is going to look like a water fountain with all the holes they are making him, jaja). After that the following step is to go back to the cardiologist (is supposed to be on the second week of March) and finf out what occurs with Pablo.

In other themes, yesterday (Friday) the electricity was out from 8:30 pm. until 2:45 am. The worse thing was the horrible heat that followed (no air condition nor fans). I will tell you that I end up sleeping on the floor and my girls waited until midnight to go to bed when they fell exhausted. Then, today since we were all with our batteries down, it was a long day but in which we did not do a lot in the house.

Casi de Hospital / Almost of Hospital

Después de otra noche difícil donde apenas hubo oportunidad de dormir bien nuestro día comenzó un poquito al revés. Ayer ambas niñas pasaron el día sin comer, tomaron muy poca leche pero, sí tomaron mucha agua (lo cual ayudó bastante). Pablo comenzó el día gestionando la cita para un cardiólogo pero la mayoría tenían citas disponibles para marzo o sino no aceptaban nuestro plan médico. En ese intermedio intentábamos atender a ambas niñas que seguían tosiendo, con gotereo nasal, sin comer e irritadas. Luego, comenzaron los episodios de vómitos (lo cual hacia más difícil la situación ya que no tenían nada en su estómago). Así que comenzamos a preparar bultos para una segura estadía de cinco estrellas en el hospital.

Tan pronto llegamos a la oficina del pediatra y la enfermera nos vió inmediatamente nos pasó con el doctor. Nos enviaron a realizarles pruebas de sangre y regresar con los resultados (así que imagínense lo mal que se veían en ese momento las niñas). Y como Dios es grande y misericordioso, el resultado solo reflejó que era viral (ya no habían vómitos, ni fiebre) y como lo único que ellas hicieron fue tomar mucha agua en estos días pues estaban hidratadas, así que no tuvimos estadía cinco estrellas.

Continúan con la tos y comenzaron a comer un poquito (ni los pájaritos comen tan poquito comparado con lo que ellas están comiendo pero peor es nada) así que esperamos que en los próximos días el panorama cambie. En cuanto a Pablo pues mañana seguimos buscando un cardiólogo.

After another difficult night where we barely had an opportunity to sleep well our day began a little bit upside down. Yesterday both girls passed the day without eating, they had very little milk but, they had a lot of water (which helped enough). Pablo began the day looking for an appointment for a cardiologist but the majority had no space until March or they did not accept our medical plan. Meanwhile we tried to attend both girls that continued coughing, nasal congestion, without eating and irritated. Then, it began the vomiting (which was more difficult since they did not have anything in their stomach). So we begin to prepare for a sure five stars stay in the hospital.

As soon as we arrive at the office of the pediatrician and the nurse saw us immediately she sent us with the doctor. He sent us to carry out tests of blood and to return with the results (Just imagine how sick the girls look that he sent us right away). And as the love of God is big and merciful, the resulta reflected that it was viral (no longer there were vomitings nor fever) and since the only thing they had was a lot of water in these days therefore they were dehidrataded, so we did not have our five stars stay.

They continue with the cough and they began to eat a little bit more (not even the little birds eat so little but compared with what they were eating before is better than nothing) so we expect that in the next days the panorama will change. As for Pablo, tomorrow we will continue seeking for a cardiologist.

Viernes y Sábado / Friday and Saturday

Esta semana parece que era una complicada para nosotros. Ayer, Pablo pasó media día en el hospital ya que le volvió a dar el dolor de pecho pero, esta vez acompañado de dolor de cabeza. Le realizaron dos electrocardiógramas por que uno de ellos salió raro pero, al final le dijeron que todo estaba bien. De más esta decir, que ya tiene en agenda realizar ejercicios y cuidarse más ya que es joven y tiene una familia. Hoy intentamos que se realizara una prueba de sangre para saber sí es diabético o no (luego de un par de horas sin comer le dan mareos) pero, adivinen que no se la pudo hacer por que era de cuatro horas y aquí en mi bello país Puerto Rico las oficinas de laboratorios cierran al mediodía los sábados (esto es parte de vivir en la época de piedra). Así que ya les diré como siguen las cosas.

En otros temas, ayer viernes las niñas realizaron otra manualidad de corazones. Esta manualidad la realizó mi amiga Malena con sus trillizos (es una lástima que no puedan ir a su blog puesto que es privado). Las niñas disfrutaron haciédola así que les comparto las fotos.

This week was a complicated one for us. Yesterday, Pablo spent part of the day at the hospital since he had another episode of chest pain but, this time was accompanied by headache. He had two electrocardiograms because one of resulted rare but, in the end they told him that he was well. All I have to say is that already he has in agenda doing exercises and take more care since he is a youth and has a family. Today we tried to have a blood test to find out if he is diabetic or not (after a couple of hours without eating he always gets sick) but, guess what that it could not be done because it lasted four hours and here in my beautiful country Puerto Rico the laboratories close at noon on Saturdays (it is like living in the stone age). Later I will tell you how things are going.

In other things, yesterday Friday the girls made another handicraft with hearts. This handicraft was made by my friend Malena with her triplets (sorry but I cannot link you to her blog since is private). The girls enjoyed doing it so I share the photos.

Enfermos Otra Vez / Sick Again

Desde el pasado jueves, todos en la casa estamos nuevamente con catarro. Pero, por supuesto que la peor parte siempre la llevan las niñas, especialmente Paola. Lo único bueno es que hasta ahora (toco madera) esta comiendo.

Luego de varios dias enfermos (a pesar de que no lo parece en la foto con Santa Claus) y para variar un poco decidimos salir a comer y luego comimos helado. Allí Paola se cayó y se dió un golpe en su cara. La nariz está roja, se cortó la encía con los dientes y la parte de arriba del labio está hinchada. Lo único ventajoso de eso fue que al parecer el golpe le quitó el gotereo nasal que tenía,ja.

En otros temas, quiero agradecerle a Missy Two Little Monkeys por regalo tan bonito que le envío a las niñas. Missy, las nenas están super contentas con el adorno del árbol e inmediatamente lo colocaron en el. La postal de Navidad esta preciosa, gracias. Eres una amiga increíble y muy especial.

Since last Thursday, we are all with the cold, again . And the worst part is always when the girls are sick, especially Paola. The only good thing is that up to now she is still eating well.

After various sick days (in spite of the fact that it does not seem like that in the photo with Santa Claus) we decide to leave home to eat and ice cream. There Paola fell and hit her face. Her nose is red, cut her gums with her teeth and her upper lip got swollen. The only positive thing of that was that apparently the blow removed her nasal congestion, ha.

In other themes, I want to thank Missy from Two Little Monkeys for her pretty gift that she sent for the girls. "Missy, the girls are very happy with the tree decorations and immediately placed them on the tree. The Christmas postcard was precious, thanks. You are a very special and incredible friend.

Todo Está Bien / Everything Is Fine

Solo quería comentarles que gracias a Dios el día de hoy fue mejor. Las niñas están comenzando a ser ellas nuevamente. Paola, está practicamente curada y Sofía pues está comenzando a tener un poquito de ronquera, pero la fiebre desapareció.

Vamos encamino a estar sanos y saludables otra vez.

All I wanted to comment is that thanks to God today was a better day. The girls are becoming themselves again. Paola is practically cured and Sofía shows signs of a mild sore throat, but the fever disappeared.

We are on our way to be healthy again.
