In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day to take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response.

Which would be the profession or job that you might never want to do? and Why?

My answer:

The profession that I could not do is a veterinarian. Because I do not like animals and I don't think I would be able to clean its excreta.

Gusto en Conocerte / Nice to Meet You

Hola, mi nombre es Annie. Vivo en la parte sur de Puerto Rico. Tengo un esposo maravilloso y unas gemelas espectaculares. Mis pasatiempos favoritos son las manualidades, organizar y crear fiestas infantiles, escuchar música y desde hace un año me encanta "bloggear",ja. Soy ama de casa pero, mi profesión es maestra de escuela elemental (la cual no ejerzo desde que quedé embarazada). El verano pasado mi esposo y yo abrimos nuestra tienda de bordados en Etsy (es toda una odisea) de manera que podamos contar con un ingreso adicional.

Me encanta estar con mis niñas y disfrutar cada día su desarrollo (sin tener que esperar que alguien me diga lo nuevo que hicieron). Nuestro diario vivir es una aventura que disfruto a plenitud. Cada día es un reto y a la misma vez una bendición.

Hello, my name is Annie. I live in the south part of Puerto Rico. I have a marvelous husband and spectacular twins. My favorite hobbies are the handicrafts, to organize and to create kids parties, listen music and since a year ago I love "blogging", ha. I am a housewife but, my profession is teacher of elementary school (which do not I exercise since I was pregnant). Last summer my husband and I opened our Etsy embroidery store (is has been an odyssey) so that we can have an additional income.

I love to be with my girls and enjoy each day of their development (without having to listen to anyone to tell me the new things that they do). Our life is an adventure that I enjoy to the max. Each day is a challenge and a blessing.

Dos Semanas de Entrenamiento / Two Weeks of Potty Training

Luego de dos intentos fallidos (mayo y agosto de 2009) hemos vuelto a dar batalla al "potty training". En este momento yo comprendo que tanto ellas como yo debíamos estar preparadas y por eso fracasé dos veces. Esto es un proceso que requiere dedicación y mucha paciencia es un proceso de enseñanza.

Ahora, hemos retomado nuevamente el proceso y es un éxito. Los primeros días cada 20 minutos tenían que sentarse en sus inodoros (de más esta decir, que el primer día yo terminé súper agotada pero, no me rendí). El incentivo por hacer sus necesidades es usar la computadora por 20 minutos. Mientras están sentadas las entretengo recortando, escribiendo, haciendo manualidades, pintándose las uñas, en fin lo que se me ocurra.

A pesar de que en las mañanas usan sus pañales para hacer caca (por eso es que algunas veces las ven en pañales) luego en panties. Los accidentes ocurrieron durante los primeros días pero, luego ninguno. El proceso se denomina:

niñas entusiasmadas + mamá enfocada = pronto cero pañales

After two failed intents (May and August of 2009) we are back on the battle to the "potty training". At this time I understand that we should be all prepared to start this task and therefore I failed two times. This is a process that requires dedication and a lot of patience, is a process of teaching.

Now, we have taken up again the process and so far is a success. The first few days they had to sat down every 20 minutes on their toilets (needless to say, that the first day I finished super exhausted but, I did not yield). Their incentive is to use the computer for 20 minutes. While they are seated I entertain them trimming, writing, doing handicrafts, painting their nails, in short anything that it occurs to me.

In spite of the fact that in the mornings they use their diapers to do poop (therefore in some photos you'll see them in diapers) then in panties. The accidents occurred during the first days but, then none. The process is called:

enthusiastic girls + focused mom = soon zero diapers

Otra Manualidad de San Valentín / Another Craft for Valentines

El martes, yo quería realizar una manualidad un poquito diferente. Así que decidimos hacer un adorno colgante de corazones. Nos divertimos muchísimo realizando esto y estuvimos alrededor de 45 minutos en el proceso. Me encanta invertir mucho tiempo en algo por que así el tiempo pasa muy rápido,jajaja.

Espero que estén disfrutando del fin de semana. Quiero aprovechar para darle la bienvenida a los nuevos seguidores de mi blog que vienen a través del "Friday Follow".

This tuesday, I wanted to make a handicraft a little bit different. So we decide to do a hanging hearts decoration. We ha a lot of fun doing this and it took us about 45 minutes to complete it. I love to spend a lot of time in something because this way time goes very fast, jajaja.

First: I'll pay off the mortgage.

Second: Buy a home for my girls.

Vaya Tarde / What Afternoon

Yo no sé si mis niñas presentían que Pablo llegaría tarde hoy de trabajar o fue el exceso de agua (sí, por que tomaron muchísima agua) lo que las puso super inquietas. La mañana transcurrió "normal", una que otra pelea entre ellas pero, nada del otro mundo. Luego, de cenar se pusieron incontrolables. Tirando cosas, peleando, corriendo, gritando, etc. Yo les busqué alternativas pero, nada pareció funcionar. Ya al final yo estaba rendida y me fuí a trabajar con la mercancía nueva para Etsy. Error, fue peor. Luego, de enviarlas a su cuarto todo pareció que se normalizaría. Ellas se fueron a jugar y en eso sonó el teléfono (no hay nada más oportuno para un niño hacer travesuras que cuando mami habla por teléfono). Así que como suele suceder, allí ocurrió la travesura. Paola se fue a jugar al armario del cuarto familiar y no sé como, la puerta se cayó. Lo mejor de todo es que aterrizó con mi computadora (menos mal que no rompió el monitor por que tenía una pantalla protectora que dicho sea de paso sí se rompió y me enteré en ese momento que era de cristal,ja).

Gracias a Dios, después de el gran acontecimiento a los 15 minutos llegó Pablo (8:15 p.m) y allí mismo terminé de recojer y le dije me voy a bañar y no quiero hablar ni con mi mamá (necesitaba esos 5 minutos a solas).

Mañana espero que sea un día mejor.

I do not know if my girls felt that Pablo would arrive late today from work or was the excess of water (yes, because they were drinking a lot of water) what made them hyper. The morning elapsed "normal", some fights between them but, nothing out of the normal. Then, after dinner they were uncontrollable. Throwing things, fighting, running, shouting, etc. I looked for alternatives but, nothing seemed to work. At the end I gave up and decided to work with the new merchandise for our Etsy store. Mistake, It got worse. After I sent them to their room all seemed that it would be normalized. They went to play and then the telephone rang(there is no better chance for a kid to do mischiefs that when mommy is at the telephone). So as it is used to happen, the mischief occurred. Paola went to play at the family room's closet and I do not know how, the door fell. The best of all is that it landed on my computer (at least it did not break the monitor because it had a protective screen that by the way, it broke and I founf out just then that it was made of glass, ha).

Thanks God, after the great event happened Pablo arrived about 15 minutes (8:15 p.m) and I finished cleaning up the mess and told him I am going to bathe and I do not want to speak to anyone not even with my mom (I really needed those 5 minutes alone).

Tomorrow I expect it to be a better day.

I really don't know how it happen all I know is that the door stopped with my computer.

Lunes / Monday

Estuvo lloviendo hasta las 2:00 p.m. así que nuestro mañana fue muy tranquila y nada estresante. Luego, en la tarde fuimos a hacer compra (mi alacena y la nevera me dieron las gracias por que ahora están haciendo su trabajo,jaja).

It was raining until 2:00 p.m. so our morning was very tranquil with no stress at all. Then, in the afternoon we went to buy some groceries (my pantry and the refrigerator gave me thanks because now they are back at work, jaja).

Domingo / Sunday

No puedo creer todas las cosas que hicimos hoy. Así que desglosaré lo sucedido:


a. Las niñas nos levantaron a las 8:30 a.m.
b. Rico desayuno en Subway.
c. Compramos varias plantas para nuestro patio.
d. Cuatro tandas de ropa lavadas (falta doblar la ropa)
e. Siesta (1 hora)
f. Pizza para la cena.
g. Sembramos las plantas (Pablo también limpió el patio)
h. Baño y a dormir (las niñas) mientras nosotros vemos un poco de televisión.

Las niñas jugaron con sus plasticinas, en el columpio, los carritos, con agua y con tierra (eso es mejor que cualquier juguete,jaja)
En realidad muchas cosas pero, lo mejor es que estuvimos juntos y eso fue lo más importante.

I cannot believe all the things that we did today. So I will itemize all it happened:

A. The girls woke us at 8:30 a.m.

B. Rich breakfast at Subway.

C. We bought several plants for our backyard.

D. Four laundry rounds (we still have to fold the clothes)

E. Nap (1 hour)

F. Pizza for dinner.

G. We sowed the plants (Pablo also cleaned the patio)

H. Bath time and bed time (for the girls) while we see a little television.

The girls played with their Play Doh, in the swing, the tricycles, with water and with dirt (that is better than any toy, jaja) We did many things but, the best is that we were together and that is the most important thing.

Manualidades de San Valentín / Valentine's Craft

Las niñas y yo ya comenzamos a realizar nuestras manualidades de San Valentín. He aprovechado el tiempo que están sentadas en sus inodoros portátiles para entretenerlas (luego les diré como va el entrenamiento para el baño).

Hemos realizado dos manualidades y esperamos hacer más en los próximos días. Les mostraré sus grandes obras de arte, jaja.

Espero que estén disfrutando el fin de semana.

The girls and I started to make our St. Valentine's day handicrafts. I took advantage of the time that yhey are seated on their portable toilets to entertain them (later I will tell you how the potty training is progresing).

We have completed two handicrafts and we expect to do more in the next days. I will show you soon their works of art, jaja.
