Nuestra Historia / Our Story Part 2

Ese verano del 2005 fue difícil. En ese momento pensamos que la paternidad no era para nosotros y decidimos quedarnos tranquilos y no realizar ninguna actividad más para recolectar dinero. Un día mientras yo estaba en mi casa en las vacaciones de verano recibí una llamada de una amiga que me decía que habían dejado abandonados a unos gemelos (la parejita) en el hospital y que a través de la iglesia ella podría ayudarme a conseguirlos. En ese momento, ambas nos volvimos locas realizando llamadas y haciendo diversas gestiones para obtener más información sobre ellos. Recuerdo que aquel fin de semana era largo y Pablo y yo decidimos ir al cine y comenzamos a reírnos de lo gracioso que nos veríamos con gemelos después de llevar tanto tiempo solos y de como cambiaría nuestras vidas (esto son ironías de la vida). Finalmente, recibimos la llamada que esperabamos pero las noticias no eran buenas, los niños los había cogido otra pareja. Así que una vez más colgamos nuestros guantes y una vez más nos dedicamos a nosotros.

Otro día mientras trabajaba una compañera me preguntó que por qué no adoptabamos y yo le dije que verdaderamente nunca había pensado en eso. Así que se lo comenté a Pablo y decidimos primeramente buscar información. Un día casual igual que aquel día de verano, viene mi amiga y consigue el número de un hogar de niños así que Pablo se encargó de hacer las llamadas. Finalmente, fuimos a una orientación pero el proceso era bastante extenso así que también buscamos información en el programa de adopción del gobierno.

That summer of 2005 was difficult. Just then we thought that paternity was not for us and we decide to remain tranquil and not make any more activities to collect money. A day while I was in my house on summer I received a call from a friend that told me that someone left abandoned twins (the couple) in the hospital and that through the church she would be able to help us obtain them. Just then, we both went crazy making calls and doing everything possible to obtain more information on them. I remember that it was a long weekend and we decided to go to the movies and started laughing thinking about us with twins after being so much time alone and how it would change our lives (this are tje ironies of life). Finally, we received the call we were waiting for but the news were not good, the children were adopted by another couple. So once more we hang our gloves and once more we dedicated our time to our daily routines.

Another day while working a coworker asked me why we did not adopt and I I told her that we had never thought about that. So I talked about it with Pablo and we decide primarily to seek information. A coincidental day the same as that day of summer, my friend comes and gets the number of a children's home so Pablo took charge of doing the calls. Finally, we went to an orientation but the process was quite extensive so we also looked for information with the government's adoption program.
