Heather pregunta - ¿Tienes la historia del nacimiento de las niñas en algún lugar en tu blog?
Sí, a pesar de que mi blog comenzó el año pasado (creo que cerca del verano) me dí a la tarea de escribir sobre nuestro feliz año 2006. Así que puedes ver aquí la historia. Lo lamento pero no tengo fotos colocadas allí.

Hemos estado combatiendo el catarro en estos días (no queremos estar como a principios de año). Gracias a Dios la fiebre en las nenas ya pasó y estamos mejor.

Mi dieta va muy bien. Estoy portándome de maravillas aunque no he comenzado los ejercicios. Ojalá que logre mi meta para el día de las Madres (perder las 5lbs)

Respuestas a las Preguntas / Answering the Questions

A continuación les doy mis respuestas a las dos preguntas que me hicieron.

La primera pregunta fue de Heather: ¿Qué tipo de plan tienes para realizar los ejercicios?

Pienso utilizar unos DVD's que tengo de aeróbicos (este incluye hasta abdominales) y otro de yoga. También estoy considerando salir a caminar. De momento no tengo otra idea de qué ejercicios realizar pero, acepto sugerencias.

La segunda pregunta la hizo Cheryl: ¿Qué te hizo decidir en escribir en ambos idiomas?

El español es el idioma oficial de Puerto Rico y es el que domino pero, incluí el inglés por que es el idioma que la mayoría de los lectores entienden. A mí me gusta compartir y socializar, por eso pensé que de esta forma podía llegar hasta más personas. Es una satisfacción recibir elogios por desempeñar mi blog en ambos idiomas. También es una manera para que otros puedan practicar un segundo idioma.

Gracias a ambas por tomar de su tiempo para realizar preguntas. Esto será algo que realizaré durante las próximas semanas así que piensen que otra cosa les encantaría saber de mí o de mi familia.

PD: Cuarto día a dieta y todo sigue muy bien, aunque aún no he comenzado los ejercicios pero, pronto será.

Here are the answers to the two questions asked.

Heather asked: What sort of exercises do you plan to do?

I think I'll use some aerobic DVD' s that I have which include sit-ups and yoga. Also I am considering walking. By now I do not have another ideas of what exercises to do but, I accept suggestions.

The second question came from Cheryl: What made you decide to post in both languages?


Spanish is the official language of Puerto Rico and is the one that I dominate but, I included English because is the language that the majority of the readers understand. I like sharing and to socialize, therefore I thought that in this way I could reach to more people. It is a satisfaction to receive compliments by writing my blog in both languages. Also it is a way to others practice a second language.

Thanks to both by taking of their time to send me those questions. This will be something that will continue on the coming weeks so think what other things you wish to ask about me or of my family.

PD: Fourth day of dieting and everthing goes very well, although I have not yet began the exercises but, soon I will.

Thanksgiving Thursday

Está semana doy gracias por:
1. Mi motivación en querer perder peso.
2. Mantener mi control sobre las comidas pero en especial por los dulces.
3. Haber comenzado la parte educativa en Sofia y Paola.
4. Trabajar arduamente en nuestro patio para que sea un lugar placentero para disfrutar de los días frescos y el sol.
5. Por mantener mi objetivo de tener las cosas organizadas todo el tiempo en los closets.
6. Comenzar los preparativos del cumpleaños #3 de Sofia y Paola (bueno faltan cerca de 5 meses pero en mi casa hay un solo ingreso así que las cosas se hacen poco a poco).
7. Estamos saludables.
8. Nuestro negocio de bordados está dejándonos un ingreso extra.
9. Por las amigas que voy teniendo a medida que el blog es más leído.
10. A Dios por permitirme tener una familia hermosa.

It is week I give thanks for:

1.My motivation to lose weight.
2.Maintaining my control on foods especially on candies.
3.Starting the educational part with Sofia and Paola.
4.Working arduously in our patio so that it will be a pleasant place to enjoy the fresh days and the sun.
5.By maintaining my objective of having things organized all time in the closets.
6.Beginning preparations of birthday #3 of Sofia and Paola (still 5 months away but in my house there is a single income so things must be done little by little).
7.We are healthy.

Tercer Día a Dieta / Third Date on Diet

Hasta ahora estoy orgullosa de mí misma ya que he tenido mucha fuerza de voluntad en estos tres días. Hoy comí pan pero era integral así que no estuvo mal. El único ajuste que necesito hacer es el de los ejercicios. Hasta ahora eso es lo más difícil ya que no encuentro el momento ideal del día para hacerlos. Pero, ya lo haré aunque sea comenzando la próxima semana.

Por lo menos mi conciencia externa (mi esposo)está pendiente de cada paso que doy cuando voy a comer y me dice "recuerda que estas a dieta", pero es bueno tener a alguien que te apoye y te mantenga enfocado.

No olviden escribir sus preguntas ya que mañana las publicaré. Siempre uno tiene curiosidad por conocer a otras personas así que pregunten.

I am proud of myself since I have had a lot of force of will in these three days. Today I ate bread but was integral so it was not bad. The only adjustment that I need to do is with the exercises. Up to now that is the most difficult part since I can not find the ideal moment of the day to do them. But, I will do it maybe starting on next week.

At least my external conscience (my husband) is alert of each step that I give when I am going to eat and tells me "remember the diet", but is good to have someone that supports you and maintains you focused.

Do not forget to write your questions since tomorrow I will publish them. There is always some curiosity to know about other people, so ask.

Segundo Día / Second Day

Hoy es mi segundo día en ruta hacia bajar de peso. Aún no he comenzado a hacer ejercicios pero, por lo menos en el área de la comida me he mantenido. Nada de dulces, refresco o pan. Es un logro por que al menos en el día algo de eso comía. Voy a intentar usar una dieta que me dió la nutricionista de las nenas, es a base de 1,200 ó 1,500 calorías diarias (no recuerdo bien y el papel no lo tengo aquí a la mano). Ojalá que me funcione.

No olviden escribir sus preguntas (sí es que les gustaría saber algo más sobre mí) ya que el jueves las publicaré.

PD: Estamos trabajando en nuestro patio, yes. Espero que logremos nuestro objetivo en los próximos días.

Today is my second day in route toward losing weight. I have not yet began doing exercises but, at least in the food area I have maintained my focus. Nothing of candies, soft drink or bread. It is an achievement because at least once a day I always had some. I am going to try to use a diet that the nutritionist of the girls gave me, is based on a 1,200 to 1,500 daily calories (I do not remember well and I do not have thepapers with me right now). I hope it works.

Do not forget to write your questions (if you wish to know more about me) on Thursday I will publish them.

A Bajar de Peso y Preguntas y Respuestas/ Weight Lost and Q & A

He decidido que a partir de hoy tengo que rebajar. Tengo que comenzar con buenos hábitos alimenticios y hacer ejercicios. Muchas veces no tenemos la fuerza de voluntad para realizar las cosas y sí no nos trazamos unas metas a corto y largo plazo fracasamos en el intento. Por eso mi primera meta a corto plazo será bajar 5 ó 10 libras para el día de las madres. Ese será mi regalo.

A partir de hoy, ustedes serán testigos de este nuevo comenzar para mí. Todos los días escribiré sobre las cosas he hecho para bajar de peso. Sí hay alguien que quiera unirse a mí en esta primera fase es bienvenido.

Me gustaría que me realizarán preguntas. Por eso he decidido que el jueves será el día para contestar las preguntas que ustedes me hagan. Espero que se animen y hagan sus preguntas.

I have determined that from today I have to lose weight. I have to begin with good alimentary habits and exercise. Some times we do not have the will to do things and if we do not set goals at short and long terms we will fail trying. Therefore my first short-term goal will be to lose 5 or 10 pounds before mothers' day. That will be my gift.

From today, you will witnesses a new beginning for me. Every day I will write on the things I have done to lose weight. If there is someone that wishes to join me on this first phase is welcome.

Una Semana Más Tarde / One Week Later

El Viernes Santo, Sofia y Paola cumplieron sus 30 meses de edad. Es increíble como pasa el tiempo, estamos a tan sólo seis meses de su tercer cumpleaños. Añoro los días en que ellas eran bebés y nosotros eramos los que las cargabamos para todos lados pero, me encanta la etapa en la que estamos ahora mismo. Es fantástico que ellas te hablen y digan qué quieren o qué ropa usarán (por que sí en este tiempo ellas saben que prefieren). Me encanta jugar con ellas, enseñarles cosas nuevas, en fin compartir cada segundo con ellas. Claro, es como todo, hay unos días que son difíciles y dan deseos de gritar pero, luego llega la calma y nuevamente todos somos felices (nadie puede decirme que nunca ha tenido un día difícil con sus hijos), eso es parte de ser padres. A medida que pasan los días uno sabe que es lo mejor para sus hijos por que no se sí a ustedes les sucedió pero, cuando me hicieron la cesárea el Dr. olvidó darme el manual de instrucciones que decía "Aprendiendo a Ser Padres" y por eso es que el día a día, es el que me ha enseñado y la verdad no puedo quejarme de como me ha ido, como mamá primeriza y de gemelas.

Por eso le agradezco a Dios la oportunidad que me dió de ser madre. Que mis niñas sean sanas y saludables. Y lo mejor todo es que me haya dado un gran esposo que trabaja para mantenernos y me permite estar en la casa con mis dos grandes tesoros.

Feliz 30 Meses Sofia y Paola, las amamos mucho.

On Good Friday, Sofia and Paola reached 30 months of age. It is incredible the way time flies, only six months for their third birthday. I yearn for the days in which they were babies and we carried them all the time but, I love the phase in which we are right now. Is fantastic that they speak and say what they want or what clothes yhey want to use (now they know what they want to wear). I love to play with them, to teach them new things, in short to share each second with them. Clearly, it is like all, there are some days that are difficult and all I want to do is scream but, then the calm arrives and we are all happy again (nobody can tell that they have never had a difficult day with their children), that is part of being parents. As time goes you learn more of what is best for our children because maybe you didn't noticed, when I had my c-section the Dr. forgot to give me the instructions manual that said "Learning to Be Parents" and therefore that's why day by day, I had learned and the truth is that I cannot complain of how it has been, I'm a first-time mother of twins.

Therefore I thank God for the opportunity he gave me to be a mother. That my girls are healthy. And the best of all is that I have a great husband that works to maintain us and permits me to be in the house with my two large treasures.

Happy 30 Months Sofia and Paola, we love them a lot.

Espectacular Fin de Semana / Wonderful Weekend

Desglosando nuestro espectacular fin de semana.

Jueves: Pablo salió al mediodía de su trabajo y pasamos la tarde compartiendo nosotros como familia de cuatro.

Viernes Santo: Fuimos a un lugar llamado Monte Calvario. Allí compartimos con mi familia materna. El lugar es hermoso, disfrute cada minuto allí. Por primera vez, estuvimos todos los miembros de la familia materna. Hubo alrededor de veinte carros, ciertamente eramos muchos pero, lo pasamos muy bien. Luego en la noche nos fuimos todos para la casa de mis padres y allí estuvimos hasta la medianoche. Fue un largo día pero sensacional.

Sábado: Nos levantamos tarde. Realizamos algunas tareas en la casa y nos preparamos para recibir a la familia en nuestra casa. La fiesta continuo hasta las 2:30 a.m. Ese día también hicimos las compras de Pascuas (si ya sé a última hora).

Domingo de Pascua: Nos reunimos en la casa de mis padres para que los niños recogieran sus huevitos y darles sus sorpresitas pero, después nos fuimos para la casa de mi prima Jasmine y allí continuo el "party".

Todos estos días ajetreados se debieron a que mi tía María estuvo de visita acá y pues que mejor ocasión para disfrutar todos juntos. Ana Sofia y Ana Paola disfrutaron cada uno de los días y también se acostaron tarde por que ciertamente a mis hijas les gusta la fiesta. Pero lo mejor fue que Pablo pudo estar con nosotras todo el tiempo, ese fue nuestro mejor regalo de Pascuas.

Itemizing our spectacular weekend.

Thursday: Pablo worked until noon and we spent the afternoon together just the four of us.
Good Friday: we went to a place called Mount Calvary. There we share with my maternal family. The place is beautiful, I enjoyed each minute there. For the first time, all the members of my maternal family was reunited. There were around twenty cars, certainly we were many but, we had a good time. Then that night we all stopped at my parents' house
until midnight. Was a long but sensational day.

Saturday: We woke up late. We did some tasks at home as we prepare to receive the family in our house. The reunion ended at 2:30 a.m. That day we made some purchases for our traditional Easter reunion (if already I know to last minute).

Easter Sunday: We meet at my parents' house for the egg hunt and gave some gifts to the kids, later we went to my cousin Jasmine's house where there was a party.

We had all these hectic days because my aunt María came to visit and we wanted to enjoy all together. Ana Sofia and Ana Paola enjoyed each one of the days and went to bed late. Certainly my daughters like to party. The best part was that Pablo was all the time with us, that was our better gift of Easter.
